To a certain extent, we don't know what we believe unless we have to defend our beliefs. I remember hearing in church, "Faith without deeds is dead". In this free country, where we're free to believe whatever we want, we aren't persecuted for our beliefs, so how can we have faith if we don't have to do anything to show it??? So, we pick fights and get in arguments so that we have a chance to defend our beliefs. Isn't that funny? But it's okay, really, because most of the time no one gets hurt. I think in a way, Christians and Atheists need the fighting because they both just really want to be sure about their own beliefs.

God gives all of His children the option to choose to know Him or not to know Him. Christians choose Him and athiests do not. It is that simple and I think the bashing between the two is unnecessary, but some members of each group seem to get caught up in it and even enjoy it.

Because they think it's just fine and dandy to push their religious practices into MY government when we already agreed not to do that.

What's the harm? Dead teenagers. Dead people who put their faith in quack tv preachers. Family members who are losing their life savings on "miracle water." Gay people's right to marry being taken away. One particular religion's weak creation myth being taught in science class.

That's why I can't just "agree to disagree."

christians try to push their religion into science class rooms is why and making it political, atheists wouldnt be making a peep if christians werent trying to do this.
