Can I use a raccoon to catch the mouse/rat in our house?

There's a wild mouse/rat in our house. I very often see it, but I can not catch it. It is extremely skittish and agile to be caught. I used ALL KINDS OF TRAPS, but they didn't work -- why? -- it's because he's intelligent enough to avoid them! It's almost impossible to catch that mouse/rat... then, I had an idea -- use a raccoon to catch it? But is a raccoon fast, agile and flexible enough to catch a mouse/rat?

Update:

I bought the raccoon from the pet store because I really like exotic pets. So she's really tame and captive.

Update 2:

@always b natural , I said ANY trap will NOT work because the rat is too intelligent, sly, cunning, and dexterous!!! Why can not you understand?

And sorry if I had grammar mistakes, I'm not from America.

    No a raccoon won't catch a rat.

lf you have a tall metal garbage can, use that as a trap

put a board up to the open top of the can, and put a food

wrapper in the bottom. The rat will go up the ramp, and fall

in to get the food, and then won't be able to get out.

make sure your raccoon doesn't have access to this, as

they will tip the can over, and your trap will be disabled

EDIT: This trap has nothing to do with cunning or intelligence.

lt is physically impossible for the rat to climb out a slick

metal can with tall sides. They are attracted by the

indication of an easy meal, they fall in, and cannot get out.

My husband's company did this all the time to control

pests in their area that was semi-rural and had large

doors that were left open for extended periods (truck

    repair shop) lt always worked.

Here's the ultimate trap for a mouse, and since you're using a raccoon I assume you're ok with killing it. Just get one of those basic snapping mouse traps, and put peanut butter on it with a tiny piece of chocolate wedged into the little hook part of the trap visible below the small amount of peanut butter. Get the peanut butter in the notch as well. Now set the trap, and put it in a place where you've seen the mouse/rat and make sure your raccoon can't get to the trap, I'd suggest putting the raccoon in a bathroom or separate room altogether for the night. Leave the trap for a night or 2 and the mouse/rat should be caught/dead pretty soon.

if your raccoon IS safe, then go ahead. just make sure he doesn't eat rat poison or get lost or hurt.
