Hi I'm thinking about buying a 93 civic with a integra b18 swap and the guy says the car runs and drive but the engine has no power behind it I was wondering if anyone could possibly tell me what the problem could and if it would be pricey to fix thanks.... O idk if it matters or not but its 5 speed

Update:

no i havent heard the car run yet didnt want to waste my time if it was gonna run up there on price to fix... the guy said it was in theshop for 2 months and it started to do it 2 weeks after he got it back

Well have you drove the car? heard it run or anything. It could a bad clutch slipping bad or it could be a motor that is ware out or both. It is best to have a mechanic look at the car and test it out for you. He be able to tell how much it would cost to get the car fixed up. You have the last word if you want to take it on or pass it up. Here is the problem we cannot check the car out for you. Sice it has no power, I would not be looking at it to buy. Unless I want to fix it up and not get my money back. It is 20 years old. That a lone means that car been used up. If you are will to get another motor and redo the clutch and all the other problems it has. They was not build to last this long. It may be one that broke the belt and didn't fully bent the vales on the exhuast side. It barry runs no power. Well hope you see what I am getting out. Someone trying to unload it on someone. This car is no longer in the resale books. More than the money would get from the wreching yard. It is not worth it's parts any more.

i would not buy there could be many problems. One could be poor compression meaning most likely a complete engine rebuild. Get it checked properly because it can also be something as simple as a tune up. Check for smoke, oil color, knocking, oil in radiator etc. You should even take out the plugs and see if they are fouled etc.
