Only reason anyone buys them is to cheat in online ranked competitive shooters. The basic modded controller allows you to hold a button and that button will be activated a set number of times in a certain amount of time. Lets say if you hold (X) it would be activated 3 times per second. That's the extent of rapid fire, but modded controllers can do more. The common mods attempt to make you a harder target to hit, like the drop-shot mod which gives you a more accessible prone button. Then there is the outright cheating that is the jitter mod, it turns burst-fire weapons into full auto weapons. These controllers are frowned upon by any legitimate gamer and are essentially outright cheats and reportable.

it makes it so if you hold the right trigger it will make the game keep thinking your pulling the right trigger handy for shooters but its illegal to use online but you can just dont use the mod online :)
