Will gun control be an issue in this election?

No, gun control won't be an issue. The NRA has made it very public that they have paid off both parties. This will not effect my vote, as I have a few shotguns and a couple hand guns. I have no use whatsoever for any kind of assault weapon.

There was a push from the mainstream media and the fringe left for gun control but the last attempt at gun control was a prominent factor in the GOP landslide of 94. No sane Democrat wants to repeat it.

highly unlikely. Obama never pushed any gun control whatsoever, even when he had big majorities in the House and Senate. The democrats have pretty much given up on gun control since 2000, when it cost Gore the election (if he won his gun loving home state of Tennessee, Florida wouldn't have mattered)
