Is it not frightening when you realize how many simple-minded people there are in the world?

I just submitted a question regarding a young man in Indiana who was given a job opportunity because he stopped and asked for information from a business owner. It is a great story that was on Yahoo news and my reason for submitting it was to alert other people to it. Two YA users answered with thanks then the question was deleted because the "community" complained. I suppose my sin was that I referred to all of you as Yahoos. I have pretty much quit participating in YA because of situatuions like this. I have noticed over the past few months that fewer of the old timers who were regulars on YA post anymore. It is sad that a few thin-skinned individuals with fragile psychs can screw it up for those of us who have been down a few rocky trails and want to have some fun and hopefully lend support to other "older' citizens.

Gee there sure are some petty people out there if they take offence to being called a 'yahoo' and report a Q or A because of that.

I often use word I made up - 'yahooians' or just 'yahoos' as you did and I have NOT been reported for that ever. If that is the only reason that you can think of that caused your Q to be deleted, then appeal on the grounds that you had no intent to offend any one. Good Luck.

FYI, "yahoo" as an interjection can mean a cheer, but "yahoo" as a noun is an uncomplimentary term. See link below. Yahoo! is the name of this web site. If you had referred to members of the community as "Yahoo! readers" I do not think that it would have been a problem.

You can appeal the deletion of your question if you think that it was improper to delete it.

I answered your question also, but like Ruby says.....I don't believe it was in question form...more like a chat. But it surely was not me doing the deleting. But you are correct in stating that heavy handed deleters are here, but the good news is......

.Yahoo is now on alert for our category and live humans are watching us, for many of us have mailed them with the same problem......unfair deletions and stalking.

Russell, please reword your posts into questions that make us give an answer and do not leave us.

Yes, there are simple minded folks in this world, and most are to be pitied, as they cannot help it. But there are some who choose to be that way.
