What is the procedure for uploading a VLC Media Player video to YouTube?
I made a video on VHS, copied it to a DVD,
then stored it on the hard drive in my laptop
(HP Compaq NC6220 running XP Pro).
I don't remember how or why it became a VLC file, but it did.
Now I need to know exactly how to transfer it to Youtube.
I have a YouTube account and, so far,
have successfully uploaded one video from Picasa.
The file is labelled VTS_04_01 and is designated as a VLC media file (.vob).
No useful responses received.

I wasn't aware there were VLC specific files .-.
It's a media player, not a file type.
In any case, if it's not an accepted YT file format, you'll probably have to re-encode it to one that is. And then you'd be able to upload it.
