does self adhesive magnetic tape have poles?

It's commonly sold, about 3/4 inch wide, about 3 feet long (ebay). Is there a pole at each end of the 3 foot length?

Also, if you cut it into pieces a few inches long, will each piece have N and S poles?

Yes, it has poles but they're not on the ends, they're on the front and back sides of the tape. That's why one side sticks to metal and the other side repels it.

yes. there is no such thing as a single isolated pole of one kind only.they way the universe is.

all magnetism is due to moving electric charge , electric current in a wire or electrons in atoms.

If the stuff is made in the same way as magnetic signs or the rubbery, flexible refrigerator magnets, then it consists of a set of alternating poles NSNSNSNSNSNSNSNSNSNSNS along the length of the strip.
