Who has the higher rank? Chief Accountant or Accounting Manager?
Hi everyone,
I just would like to know who has the higher rank between Chief Accountant and Accounting Manager in a corporate organization.
I am a bit confused.
Thanks everyone.

It varies by company. However, an Accounting Manager would often be in charge of all accounting issues, including personnel, record-keeping, invoice formats, as well as those issues actually attended to by accountants, one of whom may be the chief accountant.

Different organisations follow different standards and hierarchy. Standard organisation layout for a large organisation is Finance Director or CFO( Chief Financial Officer), followed by Finance Manager / Accounts Manager, then comes Chief accountant, senior accountant, and accountants.
So in normal case it is Accounts manager who is in higher rank than chief accountant.

Chief Accountant is the chief among all the manager whereas Accounting Manager is the manager of whole accounting department. So, Accounting Manager should have higher rank.
