What is this Japanese word?

The one beside the face. Not sure if that's even a word or if it's some sort of emoticon or just some random lines so I'm not sure if it's important. It's from a manga.

    チリッ(chirit)

I'm not sure but it is creating some feeling of tension; we often use "キリッ" when we express this though... the writer may have coined this associated with "chili", which means something hot!
