I'm a green card holder. Can I have a CHL in texas?

Update:

Thanks for the info and the insight Brother_Hesekiel. I wouldnt be doing it all the time, just some specifics situations. There is a person in town mentioning bringing a gun to meet me. I dont want to bring a knife to a gun fight.

    Yes,

assuming you are over 21 and have a clean record.

That being said, I would suggest you do not carry open or concealed while being a foreigner. One weird report about brandishing a gun -- which is a felony -- can get you a ticket home. Why taking such risk if it's not absolutely necessary?

Probably not if you tell the truth. As sad as it is, Marijuana is still illegal federally. When you fill out your forms, and it asks if you use any illegal substances, say no. They can't test you, and your green card isn't on any federal lists.
