Why do I push people away?
This guy who I've known since kindergarten (but we moved away and recently got in contact again) basically told me he loves me.
And he's so nice and unbelievably sweet and I feel as if no one will ever treat me the way he does.
But I still pushed him away.
I get asked out a lot by guys at school, but I always turn them down.
Every time I get an opportunity or chance at love, I turn away from it.
And I tell myself I'm okay with being alone, but deep down I know it isn't true.
I want to date eventually, but Yet I still say no. Every. Single. Time.
And I don't know why.
Can someone help me out here?
I'm 16 by the way.
Thanks. Sorry this was kinda long.

Mentally, you might be scared of heartbreak. For instance, if you say yes and you fall in love and then something happens and you break up, but you still love him. You maybe afraid of that and not know it. Or you can be afraid of messing up ruining everything. But hey, don't be. Heartbreak and mistakes are all natural. Idk if this is your problem, honestly only you can ever know the answer to why you do what you do.

Wow... You're lucky. I push people away too. But no one has ever asked me out or even at least say one word to me. So I basically don't talk to anyone besides adults. I'm labeled as the 'anti-social girl' in my high school. Even though I'm clearly NOT anti-social. If I were you, I'd stop. If you think or know it isn't true then stop pushing people away. Don't end up like me, a quiet girl no one talks to. We all go through it at one point. Do whats best for you. If you have feelings for him, jus give the guy a chance
