Will my Briggs & Stratton Engine be okay or eventually get destroyed?

It is running great right now and I am checking the Oil Level once a month I have to buy a NEW Air Filter but it hasn't had an Oil Change in a long time and I am trying to get help from a friend to change the oil ASAP I always top it off with a quart of FRESH oil when it gets low to keep the level at full it is gonna seize up it start and runs good as long as the Choke Lever is pushed in half way it never makes strange noises.

Update:

I'm sorry I really don't know if I have been putting in a quart of Oil probably less than that I do not know if the engine is burning oil as it is running but it is definitely NOT smoking.

Update 2:

The engine is NOT HARD Starting

Update 3:

I am using 10W-30 Oil some is synthetic and some isn't the OLD Oil it is mixed with in the Crankcase.

If you delay oil changes you will shorten the life of your engine. Use 5w-30 fully synthetic and this will give maximum protection. SAE 30 which is often recommended is inferior. Change the oil once a year and drain when hot. Disconnect the spark plug during the work if you value your fingers.

Remove and inspect the spark plug, look for a buildup of deposits around the center electrode indicating that the engine is in fact burning oil. If you find that it is, if you are using a multi-weight oil, switch to a straight weight, like 20W or 30W detergent oil, of course. I use semi-synthetic Motorcraft multi-weight oil with excellent results in all of my engines. Good Luck!
