Cats do not normally break the legs of a rabbit. It may have been hit by a car before the cat got it. Call your local vet. In Australia they treat or euthanize wild animals for free. Give a false name and address and phone number just in case....

You call animal control and inform them what happened. Since your PET got it, it's your responsibility now to have it taken care of if it is indeed that injured. In some places you can't just put it down, you can get in big trouble if someone finds you out. You call AC, they'll handle it, be it saving and rehabilitating for release, or putting it down if hurt too bad, which YOU cannot see for sure, it could just be in shock.

Unless you have x-ray vision and are a vet who can deem it unfixable, you have no right to go head smashing.

Head in one hand shoulders in the other and a very quick turn of the hands in opposite directions.

It is either that or take it to the vet and have the bone set. After 6 weeks it should be OK and you will have a new pet, doubt it could live in the wild after that.

Ever have rabbit stew.... Oh c'mon, it's just a suggestion.

It's not bad either. If you know how to prepare it.

Look, I get it, it's a horrible thing to do, But look at it like this.. He has nothing else to live for. If it's legs are gone how is it going to survive? It's an eat or be eaten world right?

Plus, leaving him to die is probably the worst thing to do. Who knows how much pain it's in.

Just end it, it's mercy if you end it.

You don't have to eat t, but rabbit tastes better than you think.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Cats are predators and can not really be swayed from their natural instincts.

I've put a link below which may give you some ideas.

Take it to a veterinary surgeon. He/she will either treat it or euthanase it. Take it to an animal sanctuary as an alternative if you know of one. You could release it and allow nature to take its course, as would have happened if you were unaware of this. Do not kill it. You have neither the means nor the experience to do it swiftly or humanely.

Put it down in a quick manner, I would recommend a gun rather then hitting it with a blunt object. While rabbit is good, I would not recommend eating a wild animal.

But the animal is likely suffering, just find it something nice to rest it on and put it down.

Call a vet in your area. Is there an animal shelter you can take it to?
