This happens with all kittens and or new cats. Just have her sit in a room with it for about 30 minutes each day. Maybe talk to so it gets used to the sound of your voice. After a while, start sitting a little closer to the kitten after a few days (depending on how scared the cat is). Once it gets to the point where the cat is okay with you within touching distance, Let the cat smell your hands, and attempt to pet it. If the cat runs away, just try again in 10 minutes. Keep doing this until the cat is okay with you petting it (also put something with your scent in the room with the cat so it gets used to the smell of you)

A couple months back my family had decided to adopt a few homeless cats from the local cat shelter, also. One of the cats, a kitten, did the same thing. She hid under the bed for a week or so, and whenever anyone attempted to pet her or pick her up, she'd burry her face into the nearest object and start shaking. We were in the same situation.

Some cats have had tough, scardy lives and thought of humans as nothing but tall, intimidating creatures. He/she'll eventually get used to her surroundings and people, just give her some time. Eventually she'll feel comfortable and warm up to people. I suggest gently picking her up from under the bed and just cuddle with her, pet her, give her treats, etc. Make her purr, and feel secure and safe around you.

I assure you in no time she'll be a happy, friendly kitty. :)))
