Ad Blocker Plus isn't doing the job it used to. Is there a better ad blocker for firefox?

If its not working you may have an adware infection. To remove Adware first look though your recently installed programs in control panel and remove any programs you didn't know you installed recently. Then use Junkware Removal Tool, AdwCleaner and Malwarebytes Antimalware. Run all 3 one at a time removing what they find. Then go into your browser settings and remove any extensions you didn't install.
If you are still having issues and it was not adware I would suggest to use UBlock or the Windows Host File. http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm
