Peugeot was in the US market before, as were Renault and Citroen. All of them pulled out of the US market in the mid 70's to late 80's.

There is a rumor that Peugeot will be returning in 2026. Additionally, Renault and Citroen are also said to be returning within the next decade.

Not worth waiting for really. They don't make anything exceptional although they are as reliable as anything else these days.

Peugeot has sold cars in the US as far back as 1958. Those operations ceased in 1991.

At present it is a "Chinese" car company and with China needing cars at a greater rate then the US market (there is a shortage of cars in China) it will be a few years (some speculate 2025) before any venture in to the US market will be attempted.

Peugeot has BEEN in the US Market. It failed miserably. The brand was imported and sold in the USA in the late 1980's and the cars proved to be unreliable and expensive to maintain. Don't know if it was a dealer problem, or the cars were just CRAP, but they didn't last very long.

Probably never. Think about it, who would buy a peugeot over a German car for example. European cars are very expensive so if someone can afford one it won't be a peugeot which has a bad reputation even though their newest cars are quite cool.

French made cars have a bad reputation in the US for reliability. Peugeot wont be in the US soon. Anyway, many Nissans share the same platform and engines with Renaults. If you want to buy something with a French flavor, get a Nissan.

Don't hold your breath. Peugeot has already been to and gone from the US market.

The French pulled all of their production cars out of the US market after the US Government made pollution controls mandatory on all automobiles sold in the USA. That was back in the 1970's and no production French Made cars have been sold here since.

How that is progressing is an issue I do not follow.
