Will an Acura Cl Manual Transmission fit in an Acura Tl?

I own a 1999 acura tl. I want to turn it into a manual. People tell me that I will spend over 6k to turn it into a manual. It's a lot , however I was thinking, won't a 2001 Acura CL Type-S 3.2L manual transmission fit into a 1999 acura Tl 3.2L ? I can get the CL manual transmission used for around 700ish, and other parts are gonna be needed of course, but will this transmission fit my car ?

Don't waste your time. Sell the car and look for one that has a manual transmission, if that's what you want. If you're trying to save money over the cost of rebuilding the automatic transmission, when all the appropriate changes have been made to accommodate the m.t, you will have spent just as much money, if not more. .

They are essentially the same car under the skin, but a tranny swap is more than just swapping the tranny. $6K sounds about right. Also, the TL's center console is different than the CL. Being that the TL wasn't offed with the 6 speed manual, some fabrication will be needed or it will look like crap. I agree with the others. Sell yours and buy a manual. Don't ruin a nice car.

Sell the car and buy an Acura with a stick. Keep it simple.

It may take over 6 large to do. The ECU has to be changed. Too many parts to add to make it work. This isn't the 70's. Sell yours and buy a manual.
