Is London a horrible place to live now?
Been put off going back to live in London. The highest knife crime on the news, overcrowded, grim. It's a hard decision.

It's always been filthy dirty, but now the crime rate is out of control, so yes it's an awful place to live

I don't think it's a horrible place. There's many nice parts and a lot to do in it, it has a buzzing nightlife for nights out or weekends away, but it is overpriced. It's also not as friendly as cities like Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, or Manchester, which isn't to say some Londoners aren't lovely people.
As far as crime goes, it's got similar problems to other large cities, it's not unusual.

It's a kip, I hated it

It's a huge urban sprawl, with some wonderful parts, sadly out of the financial reach of mere mortals.
There's nowhere I could afford to live in London which would entice me from where I now live.

Yes, a foreign enclave of lawless gangs.
According to some landanerz, you can't have an opinion if you live elsewhere, I know sewers stink, no need to live in one to confirm it.
