I want but conversion therapy but I don’t know where to find it?

Question

I should have a choice in how I choose to reconcile my sexuality rather than having it decided for me from certain political agendas - but alas conversion / reparative therapy has been stigmatised against so it’s harder to find. Where can I start to look? Just googling it brings me to a bunch of news articles I didn’t want, not services I could talk advantage of. I understand some conversion programs are BS so I’ll be careful in approaching one. But can any of you help me out? I’ve only found one weekend camp program that isn’t a good option for me rn. I feel so trapped and alone.

You might benefit from therapy.  Perhaps the therapist you see can help you find such a place where conversion therapy is practiced.  If he or she does not know, then they can help you to understand you better.  Good Luck with your battle.  I hope in the end that you are happy wherever you turn out.

Find a therapist and tell them that you want to defeat your innate sexuality, and will be willing to do anything required to get there.  Hopefully, you have deep pockets, at least until you reach the point of self acceptance.

Wrapping bacon around a wart, then removing the bacon and burying in the garden does not get of the wart. Rubbing a wart with your grandmother's urine will not rid you of it. You cannot undergo any kind of therapy to change your sexual orientation any more than you can change the colour of your skin. So-called conversion therapy does not work and will cause you more harm than good. It is illegal here in the UK and rightly so.

I have some empathy with how you feel. One of my friends is so camp he made Liberace look butch. His over-the-top campness is his way of dealing with being gay but if an injection became available tomorrow to turn him straight he would be at the front of the queue. I feel sorry for you as I feel sorry for my friend. I, too, am gay so am aware of all the difficulties that brings but life cannot only be unbearable if you will not accept who you are.

That's because such therapy is harmful and does not work. People who have been subjected to it have a greatly increased risk for suicide.

it doesnt work, it just ruins peoples lives. do you know what happens? they torture you until you break.  the people who say it worked just say it to escape

Whatever your sexuality is, that's who you are and always will be.
Accept it and be happy about it.
There's nothing wrong with being gay - nothing at all.
