Why does my immobilizer keep flashing?

One day I came home and left the keys in the ignition of my 2004 Acura TL. The ignition was in the OFF position with the keys in it. I left it like that for about 2 hours (my intent was to run inside real quick then come back out but that didn’t happen) when I got back and took the keys out I noticed the immobilizer light (green key) keeps flashing and there’s clicking coming from the engine and the lights on the window switches keep flashing too all this even with the car off and no key in the ignition. What could the problem be? Also my car alarm keeps going off every 5 min. What could the problem be?

You may have some electrical interference built up in the electrical system. Remove both of the battery cables and hold them together for 1 minute. The hook them back up and see if the problem is still there.

If it's a cheap after market alarm it may be bad.

Battery on your fob likely died. It was always ON communicating with the transponder. Replace the battery and put the key in the ignition to ON for a minute or until the flashing goes away. No joy, time for a tow.
