Why is the lady with the broken hand so pleased with a letter from Prince Philip?

She picked it up and read it using the good hand. Why didn't Philip put a cheque in with it if he is really sorry?

She asked for an apology and she got it.

Her insurance pays for expenses, and if Philip is found liable for the accident, he will also have to pay damages.

I bet there was a big fat cheque in with the letter to keep her quiet.

She is an attention seeker, yet deserving of her 10 seconds of fame because it is an interesting concept...Hit by a royal, hit by a royal who actually drives at 97...LMAO

Because she is going to be paid and paid again for the Dukes mistake, Hasn't a newspaper already printed the letter? I doubt she gave it them for free. Cannot really fault the woman, she is behaving in a most royal like way...take advantage, take the money.

Prince Philip was out driving by himself to go see his mistress. It is now being covered up since his driving resulted in a smash up.

She feels privileged to have been maimed by nobility. Only bigger honour is being accidentally killed by nobility.

Her motor vehicle insurance covers the cost of repairs she caused (or replacement of both vehicles), and NHS pays all her medical expenses

That would be a bit awkward - it would look as if he was trying to buy her silence or something. Besides, here in the UK we have a National Health Service - she won't have to pay thousands of pounds to get her hand fixed.

His insurance company will pay her for any repairs needing to be done to her car.

That letter will soon appear on Ebay - she's already, presumably, been paid by the newspaper she broke the news to? Unless she's donating her pay to charity? I keep wondering why this is all about HER - ok she broke her wrist, but she's everywhere. I suppose the driver has, quite normally, been told to keep quiet - at least until blame has been decided. I still think the driver of the oncoming car could be said to at least be equally at fault. Just because there's a 60 (or was) on that stretch of road does not mean cars should be going at that speed (or more). Driving with due care could suggest, seeing a car waiting on a side road, the driver should have slowed just in case what happened, did happen. The Prince has only said he's sorry for the PASSENGER'S injury. Nothing more. And quite right too.
