Is the Fiat Punto a great car?

Yes, they are great little cars with a very good engine that is also used in the Ford KA of 2009 onwards. My daughter has one and never had a problem. However, they are prone to corrosion so be aware when buying one.

For driving experience and reliability they are ace.

I have FIAT Punto 2016 1.2 for 3 years until now, I'm first owner and my odometer says I have driven 26.800 km until now. I'm very satisfied with the car, maybe it's not powerful and fast like a Ferrari but it gives very good driving experience and comfort. It has all the latest equipment (like air condition in the hot summer days) and takes me from point A to destination B with great satisfaction.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants a CAR for comfortable and relatively cheap transport, but not a RACING MACHINE.

Compared to what?

The original Punto was a very good car compared to its competition, but that was in about 1993.

The second generation was also a very good car at its introduction in 1999, but it failed to keep up with the competition.

The third generation "Grande" Punto was OK, but not great, when introduced in 2007,. It was flawed, but the flaws were forgiveable if you like the styling. However first facelift ruined the styling, leaving it as just flawed, and by the end of production last year it was well behind the competition.

All generations have been less than reliable as they have aged, but the third generation has been more troublesome.
