Is it wrong for you to not want to be around someone you have already forgiven for causing you harm in some way?

I have had several people in my life cause me harm. I forgave these people for what they did. They did nothing illegal or violent, but they were jerks for doing what they did. But I don't want to be around them anymore. Does this go against what forgiveness is or do I still need to be around these people?

Not wanting to be around them anymore is fine. You can forgive them and avoid them.

Jesus loves you and wants to bless your life freely :) Most of all, Jesus wants you with Him forever, and not in hell. The truth is that every belief except one will lead to eternal torment in the lake of fire for every person. Because nothing pays for our sins except the death and blood of Jesus, the sacrifice of Jesus that is already accomplished by Him . Jesus loves you! The truth is that Jesus is God, and Jesus died on the cross to pay for all of our sins in full, and then Jesus resurrected from the dead. Nothing else pays for our sins, not works, not deeds, not religions. So the only way to heaven and to avoid hell, is by believing in Jesus for eternal life (John 6:47), without adding any of your own works (Romans 4:5). Believe in Jesus to take you to heaven, and you will be in heaven, no matter what, guaranteed. That easy, thanks to Jesus! Tell Jesus that you thank Him that you will be with Him in heaven when you die, because you believe in Jesus! It is too late to be saved, after death

I would say its not good to be around those who put you in a mood and remind you of their bad habits. Its tough to lose friends so maybe thats the struggle thats making you ask this question. I know its tough to fathom someone wronging you but there are people who are screaming for good people like you, assuming that you are a nice person since being wronged means a lot to you and you stand for better treatment of others and by others. I would seek other friends than be yoyo'd emotionally over what to do, or try to forget, but never happens. The best way to go on is to put good memories on top of the bad ones and what I mean by that is by making new friends that treat you right and that you find delightful to have as friends. And sometimes it does take time to find good people, as it is tough going it alone without your past friends, so that is a reason why you might be struggling with this also. Take care and be safe in your life journey.

No it does not. You forgave them for harming you. You are not required to spend any time with them at all.

It is good to separate yourself from such people. You are so much a part of the company you keep. I would rather spend my life alone than with low life's.

You are merely assuming that they have not, will not or cannot change. And you have no way of knowing that. One things for sure - if you turn your back upon another completely then you'll never know. Some of my closest friends now are people that once offended me but that I have since forgiven.

God forgives with perfect forgiveness. And what is that? To both forgive AND forget. In the meantime, just act as though the offense(s) never happened. And soon you will forget them - like God does.

Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, >>>and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more<<<.

Jesus forgave his murderers and died to save murderers. I doubt that anyone has ever tried to murder you.

Choice of "friends" is based upon trust. There is no verse in the Bible that commands that you trust another person, except God Himself.
