How much should i get for a catalytic converter at a scrapyard?

I got 2 cats off a 98 mercury sable one has serial numbers on it. The guy down at the yard said he'd pay me $7 each.

    Most catalytic converters bring $25 to $75 at a metal scrap yard.

    You can realistically expect to get 7 to $10 for a used catalytic converter at a scrapyard if you have a working catalytic converter that you know is working. Your best bet is to list it on eBay. I looked it up for you on eBay and if you have a good pipe with the cats attached to them and they're not all rusty you can get $100 for it used on eBay plus the shipping.
