Why do so many people walk behind cars backing out of a parking place? They are being foolish and stupid!?

Some people have things on their minds and don't notice. But some people have no power, no control over anything in their life. Everyone makes their decisions for them, like bosses, parents, spouses and such. Every minute they are being told what todo and when to do it. Then they walk through a parking lot behind a car and actually force that car, that stranger to alter his driving by making him slow down, stop or swerve. These people get pleasure from that little piece of power over another person. You gotta feel bad for him.

Great question! I often wonder the very same thing. I can be half way, out of the space, and they still walk behind my car. Most of them, have their noses in their STUPID iPhones and are just NOT paying attention to anything around them. If you honk, at them, they get upset at you and call you names.

I agree, both the driver and the pedestrian needs to be alert. But what bugs me ten times more is if I'm waiting to make a right turn at an intersection, or coming out of an alley, and these idiots need to walk IN FRONT of my car. Walk behind, you moron, it's ten extra steps. Yes, they have the right of way, but if I don't see them because I have my eye on the cross traffic, it won't matter to their legs!

Yes they are , I have a beeper on mine so if that dont give them the hint that i cannot see them , i have do idea what else to do , I have a convex mirror at the end of my drive as extra look out

yeah, thats what i hate when peds just come out of the blue...another problem is cyclists coming outta nowhere...

Safety is a two way street both the drive and the walker are responsible for the safety of them selves.

If it's a parking lot, you've got to expect people to be walking to and from their cars. I'm impatient, so I usually park at the far end of the lot to get in and out easier.

They want to sue you and get money off you.

Many people are self-absorbed, oblivious to what's going on around them.
