Does Lemon corrode steel?

I have a steel water bottle that I carry around with me. My doctor has suggested that I drink more lemon water as it helps prevent Kidney Stones. Would putting lemons in my steel water bottle cause any corrosion over time?

citric tends to passivate stainless steels (creates a protective oxide film) so you should be fine.

That is probably stainless steel, as ordinary steel would rust out with plain water, quickly.

So the lemon will be no problem.

I would feel certain the flask is made of stainless steel.

I really do not believe so. But in that situation, I would go for a glass bottle as a container.
