If there was a federal law requiring every citizen to be trained in using a gun and be required to open carry, would crime disappear?

Think about it, everyone is TRAINED and ARMED, meaning everyone is prepared to kill anyone who seems like a threat.

No. Every states gun laws are different. In states like Indiana we have laws such as: No duty to retreat, duty to stand your ground, and castle law. Which basically mean if we are attacked and our life is threaten we are legally allowed to kill in self defense. In states like Californa where they have: Duty to retreat, No duty to stand your ground, and no castle law. It means that they have to run away from danger and not engage it. Even if they are put into a situation where they cannot escape and they kill in self defense. They can be arrested and charged with murder. Of which can be sentenced to prision for 3rd degree murder.

So it wouldn't matter because states like Californa doesn't allow their citizens to defend themselves.

Experience has shown crime - especially violent crime - will increase greatly.

    I own 24 guns

And about 70% of the population shouldn't get anywhere near a gun

No, it would increase. Criminals are more likely to kill their victims when it is the only way to stop their victims from killing them. Anyone who is prepared to kill has to be killed. To survive, to be left alive, a person cannot be prepared to kill.

Of course not. What keeps all those armed bone heads from doing stupid things , when they're drunk, stoned or angry? And, how does it help me to be armed if someone robs my house or steal my car when I'm not around.

Remember - more people are killed by stupidity than by actual criminals. Road rage deaths would sky rocket , accidental shootings would probably be the leading cause of injury or death . Maybe not a crime, but what's the dif?
