Is Super Mario a washed up forgotten video game character in your opinion?

It seems lime Mario never progresses. Theres nothing new or exciting about him. Its always the same game over and over...smash bricks with your head, punch a few oompa loompas or goompas or what ever they are called with your gloves, and finally beat up Bowser at the end in some corny 5 minute battle.

Sonic the Hedgehog seems to be more popular now with his own cartoon show, and his own movie that is about to come out in theaters.

not by a long shot. mario is the face of nintendo and is constantly getting new games. while not all mario games are amazing, the beauty of the franchise is how easy it is to make something new that fits in the universe. i really can't think of any other single character to appear in so many different genres of game. there's the sports games, the kart games, a good variety of different rpgs, 2d platformers, 3d sandbox platformers, puzzle games, and characters in the mario universe have their own subline of games, primarily yoshi but luigi has his own series of games as well.

Actually, no. Mario is an icon of Nintendo and is well recognized by others. There is a Mario Kart series, sports series (tennis included), and in Mario and Sonic Olympic games! So much Mario!

    No,

All Nintendo had to do is slap the name Mario on something and it sells.

They are called Oompa Loompas dammit. If your going to criticise Mario at least get it right.

    Have you seen Mario Odyssey?

And there's a movie in development starring him, too.  It's just not "live action".
