As a Republican, do you support your party's rushing a Supreme Court Justice through less than a month before election? Find it hypocritical?

I'm curious how many Republicans support their party's Lame Duck rule since they developed it, yet going against it when it benefits them? How do you reconcile the hypocrisy? Do you care about the hypocrisy?

There is the failed reason to justify an ulterior motive going around that Lame Duck doesn't apply with your party rules the White House and Senate; however, we know that is a BS reason. Passing through a Supreme Court nomination is always easiest when your party's a majority in the White House and Senate, regardless of election year, lol; an election year doesn't matter.

Do you think Republicans should throwaway their values and play dirty to "win"? Do you think there is a higher calling that allows you to not honor your ethics and morals when you would enforce them on your opposition? I would be curious to know the reasoning behind the justification. Do you really buy the qualifiers that appeared out of the blue to justify the Republicans pushing the Justice through?

Long-term, this can't create a suitable environment for the future, but it could further create an environment similar to civil War. Do you really want to support your party's involvement towards that end? If you think Trump is going to win, what is there to gain by throwing away your own rules?

Take Care, With Love Through God and Jesus and The Holy Ghost,

Update:

Ginsburg was confirmed in less than two months. But there was no election in 1993.

From start to finish, it took less than two months for Ginsburg to make her way onto the Supreme Court.

President Bill Clinton nominated her to the court on June 14,1993. The Senate received the nomination on June 22 and voted to confirm her just 42 days later, on August 3.

Update 2:

I'm not interested in the finger-pointing reasons and finding similar fault in the other party to justify your wrong; I'm interested in knowing how you justify it and if you agree with the party's push?

Do you justify it by finding fault on the other side? Do you justify other areas in your life like that? Two wrongs = Right to you? It would be nice to have legitimate responses, not evasion.

Update 3:

"Elections have consequences" is mimicking Obama's era; however, a Lame Duck Rule applies to a Supreme Court nomination on an election year. It doesn't matter if they could win another term. Republicans are the ones that created the rule, lol.

You resolve the conflict by stating that Trump has another term in which he could win, so it doesn't matter? Why not wait and see if he wins? Would you still advocate that Democrats shouldn't confirm on an election year?

I think the system is rigged against a democratic solution. The confirmation process should be done by the people's House, not the Senate, which is not a body representing a majority of the people, just a small red state forum there. Otherwise, the rule should be that a new SC justice can only be nominated by a president that has his party in charge of the Senate, which undermines separation and balance of power.  I don't think the fathers wanted that.

Like RGB said, the President is elected for four years not three.

    Yes, I support it.

I don't think it is hypocritical at all.

Obama was a lame duck - his presidency was ending.  Trump ISN'T a lame duck, at least until November 4th.

Elections have consequences, and part of those consequences is that the president and Senate can nominate and confirm justices throughout the president's term.

Dont even try that fake morality act. We won, you should deal with it like a adult. Its the presidents right to appoint a judge. Its not our fault that RBG passed away.

You deserve a pat on the back for the way you asked this question. I have noticed that conservatives are not so nice in return. Your question is fair and you do not deserve the rude answer(s) you've received.
