As a Republican, do you think you have a higher calling to rid the system of Democrats, so the end justify the means? ?

I keep running into this philosophy within the Republican party: They have a higher calling to weed out Democratic corruption from the government system; thus, they can play dirty and use any means to justify that end. Do they really believe that on conscious level?

Like with the Supreme Court nominee: Republicans throw out excuses to justify it, but they know it's false justifications to cover up operating against one's own rules; however, deep down, they must believe that going against their rules is better than operating by them. They think it's a greater evil to not violent the Lame Duck rule on this occasion.

I can logically comprehend their dilemma: They are against LGBTQ marriage and sex; they are against abortion. Thus, conservative majority in the justice system and supreme court would enforce their principles onto US society. They justify the means by stating its more abhorrent to allow it to continue.

However, prescribing to a philosophy where you can throw away all values you have to justify an end isn't good; it's very destructive. Do you think Republicans consciously consider the ramifications? Do Republicans truly believe they are doing no wrong since they are opposing a greater evil?

Update:

"Republicans aren't doing anything that democrats haven't done, or have tried to do."

I don't justify my actions by what my opposition is doing; I don't believe two wrongs make a correct behavior. I never said Democrats were saints; I am focusing on Republicans and why they allow what they do.

Since Democrats aren't good, they justify you to do whatever you want? Is that the rationalization?

Yes, I have many Republican relatives and they certainly do believe that the "ends justifies the means". Just look at political corruption. Right now in California, the Republican Party has put fake ballot drop boxes around LA, Orange County, etc. Who knows what they are doing with the ballots. It would be easy for them to determine if the ballot comes from a Republican or a Democrat. I remember when there was a gay marriage bill on the ballot. Mormons from Nevada and Utah registered to vote in California then requested absentee ballots. They didn't care that what they were doing was illegal or ethically wrong. This is what Republicans do. Trump tries to say that Democrats have done horrible things, but isn't it funny that after 4 years even Barr can't get enough against them to press charges??? It all started with Nixon...

(Rolls eyes) Take off your blinders. Republicans aren't doing anything that democrats haven't done, or have tried to do.

Democrats are not the righteous, incorruptible do-gooders that they are made out to be by the press.

Any higher calling I have has nothing to do with politics.
