News story just said unexploded bomb washed up on beach?

Lol, journalistic convention. That was the term (UXB) that was used in the Blitz and it seems to have stuck. I regularly commission surveys for UXOs which is the more usual term, but I guess any ordnance that had already exploded would not be much of a threat.

This just in from Reuters :

' Bomb fragments can still wash ashore from an exploded bomb '

There used to be a Barnes Wallis bouncing bomb sitting in the Thames estuary, which the locals used to fish off.  But It was a dummy practice bomb.

It wouldn't be news otherwise.
