Is this car cool? My friend says it’s not really a nice car and the color is weird. What do you guys think? ?

Your friend probably can't affofrd it.

And really 90%+ of Americans can't afford it as these cars tend to be giant money pits.

Friend sucked you into taking a picture of his car and then post it.  He is bragging. Could you not figure that out?

I’m not a fan of convertibles but the BMW 3 series is a decent car especially with the 6 cylinder engines. 

However it’s nearly 10 years old, I’d get it thoroughly checked otherwise it could be big bills, but they are well made and contrary to what people say in here, if well maintained are usually pretty good.

Colour? I think they look better in silver or grey, don’t like the red much. 

What I think does not matter.  Out there is someone who will love this.  For them it is the best thing on offer.  If everyone owned what your friend likes,  the world would be a boring place.

Your friend is weird.  No idea about the price or condition, but just on appearances, this car could be a lingerie model for Victoria's Secret

It is a gold mine for a mechanic! It has reached the point of needing a lot of work done on it and it also is outside of the factory support level (no parts for it from the dealer).

So I don't think it is "cool"- it is poor judgement "statement".

If you don't want the car, I will take it.
