Alarm needs the battery so you got to  put one in your car.  Only people that can steal it is the TowTruck people or a football team of 4 guys or a helicopter(military grade big motha) or a hill going down from your place.[the disadvantage of being King of the Mountain] or that there swamp is quicksand.   Or a forest fire which can level a house so "vehicle" is nothing especially if the tank is 1/4 full of gasoline (the BOOM will overshadow the car alarm in volume)

All methods mentioned will not set off the alarm. Thieves know that.

Your really want to protect the Jeep?  Go to junk yard and find a DIESEL emblem off a VW Jetta or some other vehicle and glue it to your car so it is Visible even at night.  Then buy a thin roll of silver duct tape and maybe a roll of electrical tape.  The duct tape you stick on the seats as though it is holding the seat together or even on the dash if it is plastic as many times they split in the sun and the duct tape is used to hide the big crack.  For the electrical tape you need to find some extra wiring laying around and just add it to the bottom to the real electrical wiring so it hangs out as though the wiring harness is all "kafuffled".  If you have "Tie Wire" you can use that too to make it look like the car is being held together with tape and wire. A real beater.  You know different. But thieves steal good cars, & will not look at a Diesel beater twice especially when it LOOKS LIKE IT IS A SCHIT HEAP.   Out performs the best alarms.  Oh, a good thing to get is the "pine tree" air freshener.  It is a potent stinkerella.

This does mean that you have to self serve at gas stations or the kid will see diesel and dump in diesel into your gas tank.  Now it is your fault. Besides one of them kids could be the same that steal cars at night so keep the "secrets" to yourself.

The alarm should of reset when you disconnected the battery, now just hook it back up. And youshould be good; if not then a garage will have to do the reset throw the computer, some places charge for this some will do it for free, that depends on if they have to adjust the sensor. If it needs replacing that will cost you a hundred or more, depends on which one it is and what is wrong. I had one were the wire just pulled off and they hooked it up for free.   GOOD LUCK!

I think that cars should come with some sort of book to tell you things like that.

Put the cables back on...walk over to the ignition switch...put the key in and turn it on while the alarm is making noise.

What does me disconnecting my battery have to do with you/your car? Grammar matters.
