Depends on the age and interests of the recipient. I suggest books, which can be chosen with the specific age and interests of the recipient in mind.

It would depend on their age, but you will never go wrong with something like a book or something that activates their imagination. Leave electronics out of the picture. Kids don't need that garbage, they need things that they can be imaginative with.
