Is Disney popular in Japan?

    The fantasy/fairy tale and theme park side of Disney is very popular in Japan. Other than Star Wars, the rest of modern Disney (Marvel etc) isn't really as popular

    The Tokyo Disney Resort (aka Tokyo Disneyland) is very popular with over 17 million visitors a year (if you exclude the closure due to Covid-19). With the waning of Ghibli Studio, Disney has filled the vacuum and Disney merchandises, movies, video, etc. are very popular in Japan.

    Extremely. You couldn't avoid seeing Mickey Mouse (or Snoopy as well, for that matter) if you tried.
