Can you play it today on Wii U? No.
If Nintendo wanted to, could they write a Wii U version? Probably. It may be stripped down a bit, but it's likely possible. Breath of the Wild runs on both systems and I've seen some pretty impressive homebrew of people reproducing NES games on the Intellivision lately (a console that pre-dates the NES by 6-7 years).
Will you ever see it happen? No.
