Should my high school change the time of graduation?

Graduation will be on a Saturday, at 10am in the

morning. I am not a morning person and neither are most teens. We like to sleep in on the weekend. Plus, I have to wake up an hour early to get dressed and drive to the locale of course. Should I tell them to reschedule the time to maybe evening?

You are in for a shock when you get a real job! My alarm is set for 4:20am for the mornings I start work at 6!

Don't go, there really is no need for you to be there. It truly amazes me that I got up every morning at 6:00 am to leave home by 700 am am to get to HS, using public Transportation, at 8:00 am. Great prep for going to work and getting there on time.

You are a spoiled, entitled, out of touch with reality punk!

You need to start living in the real world, which doesn’t revolve about you.  In the real world you need to be up and around well before 9am which would give plenty of time to get to a 10am ceremony.

Think about the teachers too.  They will have shopping and other things to do on a Saturday, so need to get the extra work of the graduation ceremony out of the way as early as possible.

Are you and your friends not going to celebrate graduation with some sort of a party?  You will need time after the ceremony is over to organise and prepare for the party, so again need the afternoon and evening free.

They're not going to change anything for you, so get up two hours early and be there one hour early.

Get over yourself.  One, that is not very early.  Two, the world does not revolve around you and your personal preferences for scheduling; the sooner you realize that, the easier things will be.  I doubt that you can tell the school to do anything about graduation.  You can choose not to attend though.

Entitled much??? Get over yourself. It won't kill you. There are a lot more factors in play besides the actual people graduating. Cripes kids are idiots.

my grad was on a Saturday also.  we already had prom but there is the grad dinner and party for everyone.  it was a whole day affair.  look on the bright side, at least you don't have to give a speech or are you the top student also?

They won't reschedule the time, so go to it at the time scheduled. It will not kill you.

You can ask; but I doubt you'll be successful unless you get a student majority to agree with you. Try a petition to move it to the afternoon.

(NB it'll never be evening; people have lives to lead, and won't give up their Saturday night for you)
