For me the answer is an acoustic guitar.  For you, the answer might be different.  Probably is something different.  What do you listen to that grabs you?  What do you hear that makes you say, "I want to do *that*?"  Not because someone else will say "ooh!" but because it makes *you* say "ooh!"

It takes some money to buy a good student instrument.  It takes more to pay for regular lessons.  It takes time and perseverance to practice.  Who'd want to do all that if they weren't having fun?

For beginners, a keyboard instrument is easier, because you can see everything.  However, you need to learn to read bass and treble clef, and learn to do separate things in each hand - eventually.  A good teacher will do you a ton of good.  That said - I have multiple undergrad and masters degrees in music, and have made ever dollar in my entire life since 1973 in music performance, teaching (schools in NYS, private studio, adjudication), and well over a couple thousand concerts and commercial wedding and party gigs. I am a professional flutist and pianist, some work as an organist.  The methods of learning are no different for you or me.  You need the best degreed, certified, experienced  LIVE teacher you can get to. Period.  And you must commit to regular practice - every day, something, even on the data when you can't do much except a couple of scales.  If you are last or a quitter - do not expect to play any instrument.  Good luck!

I would suggest the keyboard, if you want the greatest versatility.  You could apply it to the piano, the organ, or a mode synthesizer. Also, a keyboard uses both base cleff and treble cleff staffs, so you'd become more knowledgeable about music notation. If you limit yourself to the three instruments, I would suggest the guitar.  Why, because it is more suited to a solo performance. You could sing while you play.  It is easy to carry around to others home or parties, etc.  The drums and flute are best played to accompany other instruments.  One thing about a drummer; good drummers are hard to find.  .
