How many seniors remember Phil Harris' 'Thing' song from the 50's? ?

"OH, get out of here with that BOOM, BOOM, BOOM and don't come back no more!"

I remember it well.  My dementia operates only on memories saved after 1990.  Everything before that is perfectly clear in my mind.

A lot of seniors have dementia and have trouble remembering even simple facts so how are they supposed to remember some obscure song from 70 years ago??  What pleasure do you get from mocking senior citizens?

Yes I do remember it.  People talked about it a lot, wondering what the 'thing' was. I don't remember us ever finding out what that 'thing' was.  He should have brought out a follow-up song to enlighten us.

Yes I do remember the song The Thing by Phil Harris.  When you are a child you think that songs like that are very funny, perhaps not so funny as you get older.

Mercifully I had forgotten. That was pretty horrible. I think my TV remained off for several months. I think I even unplugged it. Same with my radio.

Ha ha.  I remember my mom singing  "Get outta here with  a "rum ta bump" before I call the cops."  Good memories.  Thanks.  ( :
