Are you using a wash cloth, a "poof", something else, or just your hands with the bar of soap when you take a shower?
Just my hands and the bar of soap :)

Hands. I only use a washcloth occasionally when I wish to exfoliate.

I don't see how there's a possible way to clean your body by rubbing soap on with your hands.
I wash my hands like that and I still see dirt. If I use a pumice cleaner everything becomes clean.
So, I use this reasoning when I shower. I use a long puff thing to put soap on. Then I rub that on my skin so it removes dirt and dead skin. I like the long rope style so I can wash my back. I tried the thing on the stick. But the stick isn't curved and is awkward to use.
I grew up using wash cloths.
Rubbing smooth slippery soap onto wet slippery skin does nothing. Your only masking your scent
