How do I screenshot another persons phone?

So I noticed while at work recently, that my supervisor took a screenshot with his phone of the screen of the scanner device I use for my job. I am not talking about how he just takes a photo with my hand holding the device and it shows the screen. No. This is like the actual screen of my device that was taken a picture of.

Is there an app I can go to do the same thing? I am interested in learning about it.

No there isn't an app for the general public.  Any apps are provided by the scanner manufacturer.

Your boss has access to all the scanners to check up on your and other employees work.

Obviously he has his phone linked to the scanner device.

If you could see a copy of someone else's screen, that would be a big security hole. It would be closed when discovered.

If you got access to others' phones without them knowing, you could install spyware. But, if you did that, you would be caught and face trouble, including legal trouble.

But, you can see others' screens with their cooperation and permission. Screen sharing apps exist. They are useful for meetings, when someone wants to share visual information, such as graphs and charts. They are also helpful in doing remote diagnosis.

The situation at work is different. You are using equipment owned or licensed for use by your company to do what you were hired to do. So, privacy laws do not bar your boss from looking at a copy of your scanner screen.

That feature seems likely to be built into the system your company uses. The scanners have something built in -- something that monitors usage. The boss has a supervisor app that can communicate with the scanners' usage monitors . The system might even be recording scanner use and activity.
