What would I need to bring with me?

Laptop. If you use a laptop... and chargerS for phone, power bank, watch, etc. WIRES and cables for electronics. MP3s if you are a music nut. Flash cards, micro SDs, readers if you use them a lot. Clothes, of course. Makeup and remover if you use it. Clock unless you use phone for alarm. Personal hygine items- razor and extra blades if you use one. No need to waste $5USD on a new one. Hair dryer. But food, shampoo, soap, etc prolly won't be much more of an expense if you buy it all in Banff. ...and food is too bulky to carry. IMHO.

Small fan, blender, mixer... such appliances, if you use these a lot in cooking.

Pliers and screwdriver may come in handy if you already have them at home. Perhaps Canadians more than Americans from USA have these always in the car... I assume you will drive to Banff. (Americans drive everywhere) I remember it was close 3-400kms to Edmonton when we went there.

Take your favorite pillow if you use a pillow. I don't but heard how many people in hotels bring their own! (others "steal" the hotel's, and tell Front Desk "you can charge me for the pillow, I took it.")! Favorite bath towel if you want...
