Is I-287 a bad road to drive on?  Are there a lot of maniac driver?

I am going to Boston.  Would it be better to take I-81 to Scranton then go east on I-84?

    No more maniacs than other roads, but I-84 route MIGHT have a bit less traffic.  I find 287 often backing up.
