What have you learned from the YA paranormal category?

Over the past decade I have answered numerous questions regarding paranormal phenomenon and have learned a great deal in the process. I did most of my reading and research prior to me having a computer as a result of personal experiences and I subsequently offered to share what I had learned once I did get a computer. This has been an extremely interesting time in doing so and though I had provided a good bit of information from what I had previously researched and read about I had probably learned a considerable amount more as time went on. For me the mystery will continue and I sincerely hope that others seeking answers to their questions are abele to find them. 

NG, behave for Christ's sake. It has nothing to do with people thinking the triangle is "dangerous" The sea and oceans are dangerous all over the world and the triangle is no different. It is just as dangerous. The problem with the triangle is the way things go missing without ever being traced. You and the other daft little sod Gary will have a hell of a job telling hundreds of thousands of people who lost loved ones, along with their ships and planes, that they should listen to you because it never happened? Can you see any "one" of them believing you and walking away happy, in the knowledge their family is heading home? If wisdom was water, you would be in a class below the Sahara desert you amasingly stupid person.

I've learned that once someone believes something, it's difficult to change their minds. A great example is the Bermuda Triangle myth. You can show all statistics and facts you can find and still not convince the hard-core believer. Despite being one of the busiest air and sea traffic routes in the world, they remain convinced it's dangerous.

I like to think, that folks looking for answers rather than confirmation, found here a new appreciation for Critical thinking

That it is possible to turn some true-believers to the rational side. Few and far between, but possible. 

I learned those skeptical fellows do more critical stinking than critical thinking. There's always somebody trying to piss in your corn flakes, but those people are obsessed.

I've seen a lot of members without any capacity to think for themselves - only to repeat what they read somewhere in a book or seen at the tv; those people are good puppets to receive mind programming. I am constantly disappointed that nobody (but a few) is into real research to find the truth. 

Yahoo answers is not a lost for me but will be a lost for other questioners who seek real informations. 

I've learned that seeing sparkles is retinal detachment - not angels. I've learned about Occam's razor and the Dunning–Kruger effect.

And I have learned that sometimes there are meaningful surprises in the unlikeliest of places ;) 

There are a lot of gullible people unfamiliar with critical thinking out there.
