Question for parents/ counselors or anybody who don’t believe in spankings?

Do you agree or disagree that it is fair for any other person outside the family or home to press charges on child & parents

Someone outside the family unit cannot bring charges against parents who spank unless there is evidence of abuse. And even then it's complicated under the laws of most states. And children who are spanked aren't charged with criminal behavior, because they are considered the victims here, not the other way around.

Bible says if you spare the rod, you spoil the child.

Beat they child with thy staff lest you spoil the child.

    Ancient wisdom is ALWAYS good.

Playing mind games with a kid just teaches them the WRONG message.

I can't press charges against another person for spanking their child. But if it's a beating and the parent injured the child?  I can report the parents to children's services or call the police.

I also don't see how spanking someone is going to change behavior or teach them right from wrong. It does instill fear into a child and i don't think kids ought to live in fear of their parents harming them physically (or emotionally).  Spankings can possibly teach a child to solve problems by using violence as an adult.

What are you asking? Is it appropriate for witnesses to child abuse to contact the police and/or DHS? Yes, absolutely. But, to "press charges" is different than making a report and is the responsibility of the legal system. An individual person doesn't get to decide whether or not to "press charges" unless the crime was directly against them. For instance, while knocking around their kid, a parent also punches a bystander who called the police. The only thing that bystander gets to "press charges" for is the assault on themselves, not the child. It's the police/court who decide if they are charging the parent with child abuse as well as assault on the bystander.

Press charges for what? I have no idea what you're asking.
