    No light, no glory, and maybe no heat.  It could be pretty cold.  The flames of hell are only figurative.  Fire cannot hurt nor harm an immortal spirit.

    The fires of purgatory are equal in intensity to the fires of hell.  St. Pio of Pietrelcina tells us the fires of this world are like a refreshing breeze compared to the fires of purgatory.
