What makes Nickelback such an exceptionally hated band?

I used to be one of its haters myself. But now I think it is a passable band and wonder what makes it so ridiculed

    Their not a hated band.Everyone has their own taste in music.Personally I like some of their songs but not all of them.They grew up in the age of grunge rock so they attract a certain crowd.
