What did Santa do about having children on his lap during the pandemic last Christmas?

As far as I'm aware, all 'Santa's Grottoes' where kids can visit and meet Santa and ask for certain Xmas prezzies, the children sat a couple of metres away on a bench. This has always been an option, as many kids didn't want to sit on his lap - and many parents were not comfortable allowing that anyway.
