The state will need time to investigate the fraud and issue any corrections; Taxpayers should file an accurate tax return (one without unemployment income) even if they don't receive a corrected 1099-G in time. (The corrected form will reflect $0 in unemployment compensation.)

The guidance from the IRS is to go ahead and file your correct return and attach a statement regarding the unemployment fraud.  It would be great if you had a confirmation from the unemployment office acknowledging that you are a victim.

File.  How do you know about this unemployment fraud?

No, crawl under a big rock and cry about it and hide from the world.

talk to a tax place about it
